No I wasn’t here during the recent long weekend of August. Hihi. I was here last June.
Just got so bored from my desk I decided to blog about my Palawan trip. Sorry, it won’t be a blow-by-blow account – a tad boring and tedious for me to do, hehe!
But imagine this: Palawan’s shore lines and beaches, definitely unmatched by anything in the world
(biased, hey I’m a Filipino!) 🙂
This is the island where our boat docked off as we headed to the famous Puerto Princesa Underground River.
Palawan is really heaven on earth, a paradise for eco-adventurers, weekend get-away addicts, and hopeless romantics 🙂
I can’t blame China if it wants to eat up a big chunk of this Philippine property. It’s beyond b-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l! Rich, natural resource, unique aquatic specie hub, top world destination – you name it, Palawan’s got it!
I think the only thing that can turn off China or the other country-claimants is the fact that Palawan is VERY FILIPINO. To be turned off, I mean in a good way. The local folks are friendly, helpful, not wanting to take advantage of us from Manila. They assisted us in getting our meals reserved, and in calling our tour guides to make sure they arrive on time. The local market was open to bargain shoppers a.k.a. kuripots like me! Haha! I love their Baragatan Festival in June – lots of seafood dishes to feast on at affordable prices!
They’re also happy people, always cheery and trying their best to speak in English for the foreign tourists who joined us in the group tour. 🙂
Below is a snapshot of our starting journey boat ride going inside the underground river.
If you want to explore the beauty of the Philippines, I suggest the best place to start the adventure is in Palawan 🙂
PS: Because boyfriend and I liked them so much, we want to spread the word and help those looking for budget (but fantastic!) Palawan Tours:
