I’ve been reading a lot of reviews about Disney Pixar’s Up. But why not? The movie is a real treat to the bones and to the heart. It’s so funny and (a bit akward) to actually see Carl carrying a house behind his back when he couldn’t cast a sword against the movie’s villain! Mga lolo ang bida!
Riz was right in saying that when Carl flipped through those “Stufs that I’m Going to do” pages, that made its mark in our hearts. Come to think of it. Life’s adventure is about the everyday things. You cannot just sit and let life fly by – because the adventure is here, it is in the now. You can’t make the world wait on you. After all, life is like turning the pages of a book. The ending is only worth it because of the story.
On a final note, let me say that I was moved when Carl was finally letting go of the house. It was like a final farewell to Ellie and his first adventure, because he is welcoming a new one in his life (well, this time with Russel :)). When he was throwing off furniture and stuffs out of his house in order to lift the thing and save Russel, it reminded me once again that it’s good to empty your closet once in a while… that’ll put your heart in a lighter spirit if you let go of the extra baggages. Only by then that you can start off fresh for a new adventure 🙂
